Starbucks Tassimo Discs

“Kraft recently revamped its business plan for Tassimo to spur stronger, more profitable growth, and we’re already seeing results,” said Hubert Weber, Vice President and General Manager, Tassimo. “We’re appealing to consumers seeking true coffeehouse quality in the comfort of their own home. Our alliance with Starbucks®* – the brand that’s synonymous with coffeehouse quality – gives coffee lovers even more reasons to turn to Tassimo.”

“We are always looking for ways to provide an authentic Starbucks coffee experience to our customers, and to do so anywhere and anytime they prefer,” said Gerry López, president of Starbucks Global Consumer Products Group. “Starbucks Research and Development department worked closely with the Kraft Tassimoteam to develop a T DISC that delivers a high-quality brewed cup of Starbucks® coffee. The result will delight our customers, as they will be able to continue to enjoy their Starbucks® coffee while using the highly convenient Tassimobrewing system. It’s another step as we extend the Starbucks experience beyond our stores.”

Starting in December, 2008 select Starbucks Tassimo Discs varieties are available in a single-cup Tassimo DISC (T DISC) capsule format. Tassimo brewer owners in the U.S. and Canada will be able to enjoy these three Starbucks® coffees at home: House Blend, Caffè Verona® and Africa Kitamu™.

House Blend by Starbucks Coffee

A wonderful, straightforward blend of Latin American coffees. The bright flavor is tempered with a round smoothness and ends with a clean finish. House blend is the Starbucks coffee most often brewed in offices, restaurants and other dining establishments the world over.

Caffè Verona® by Starbucks Coffee

Starbucks most popular coffee, Caffè Verona® is a versatile, complex blend, combining great Latin American and Asia Pacific coffees with a touch of Italian Roast. Great in a coffee press, drip brewer or even as espresso. Every Starbucks barista receives a pound of coffee every week, and Caffè Verona® has been our baristas’ favorite for many years.

Africa Kitamu by Starbucks Coffee

“I was anxiously awaiting the Starbucks discs and the wait was well worth it. If you like your coffee bold, then the Africa Kitamu (the Verona too) is the T disc for you. I usually brew a full pot of various coffees in the morning, but now I’ve been doing my Tassimo Africa even before that. It’s become a guilty pleasure.

Sure, price per cup is higher than the full pot, but it is so worth it. I agree with another Starbucks tassimo disc reviewer…if Starbucks offered greater variety (including a good decaf) there would be no need to look further for any other coffees.”
